Rep. Adrian Smith, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 3rd district since 2007, has recently shared his views and activities on social media. Born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska in 1970, Smith currently resides in Gering and holds a BA from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

On June 2, 2025, Rep. Smith expressed his support for “authorized tax filing programs” such as IRS Free File, VITA, TCE, and affordable private preparation services. He stated these are more cost-effective for American taxpayers and do not carry the same conflict of interest as the IRS Direct File government-run tax preparation program.

The following day, June 3, he participated in a policy roundtable with @ITIFdc focusing on trade opportunities. In his post from that day, he emphasized that “American innovators deserve a level playing field in the global marketplace,” citing sectors like agriculture, technology, healthcare, and entertainment.

On June 4th, Smith highlighted an event known as #NebraskaBreakfast held at the nation’s Capitol by inviting others to join future gatherings. He tweeted about how “Wednesday mornings serve up an extra helping of #NebraskaNice.”
