The Hastings College women's tennis team was in action Friday as the Lady Broncos defeated Friends University 5-2.
Hastings went on to win the doubles points as Jenna Davison and Samantha Worthington picked up a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles and Emma Markle and Maddie Ketcham easily won their match at No. 3 doubles 6-0.
Hastings took a 2-0 lead with the forfeit at No. 2 singles while Worthington won her match 6-2, 6-2. Paige Willcoxon also won her match in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to seal the win for the Lady Broncos. Ketcham did go on to win her match at No. 5 singles in come from behind action winning set two 6-3 and the tiebreaker by a 10-3 margin.
Hastings improves to 2-0 on the year and will be back in action Feb. 8 in an exhibition against the Univ. of Nebraska-Kearney with first serve set for 8:00 am in Kearney, NE.
