The Central Community College men's basketball team defeated North Platte Community College, 90-66, at the Raider Fieldhouse on Friday night.
The Raiders and the Knights kept it close for much of the first half before CCC rattled off a 16-6 run over the final 6:21 of the half to take a 39-23 lead at the break. In the second half, the Raiders built an 18-point lead at the 12:43 mark before the Knights went on a 13-6 run to cut CCC's lead to 66-57 with just over nine minutes to play. The Raiders answered with a 24-9 run to close out the contest.
Jayden Byabato and Trey Deveaux led CCC in scoring with 25 points apiece. Josh Baker logged a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
"It's good to see us start to play well at the right time of year," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "We really clicked offensively in the past two games as the entire team has been committed to making the extra pass and the right play. Jayden and Trey played extremely well, and Josh was efficient too."
With the win, CCC is 18-9 on the season and winners of two in a row.
Up next, the Raiders will battle McCook Community College on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Raider Fieldhouse.
