Today, Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) issued a statement in response to President Biden's remarks on the recent jobs report. Smith criticized the administration's handling of employment statistics and economic policies.
"President Biden should take a moment and reflect before celebrating the latest jobs report," said Smith. He pointed out that "under his presidency, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has consistently needed to downgrade its jobs estimates—including a massive reduction of over 800,000 jobs in March of this year."
Smith expressed concerns about ongoing issues such as labor shortages and missed trade opportunities for American producers. He stated that "as long as Biden-Harris policy fails to address our nation’s labor shortage, lost trade opportunities for American producers, and other problems our country is facing, inflation and poor economic recovery will continue to harm American families."
