Rep. Adrian Smith from Nebraska has issued a statement following the retirement of John Cook, the long-time coach of Nebraska Volleyball. Cook's tenure spanned 25 years during which he led the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's volleyball program to significant achievements.

"A quarter century ago John Cook took over a successful program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and took it to unprecedented heights--not only for the team, not just for volleyball, but for women's sports globally," said Rep. Smith. He expressed gratitude towards Coach Cook for his dedication and integrity, emphasizing that his "standard of excellence will always mean so much to the people of our great state."

In light of Cook's retirement, Dani Busboom Kelly has been appointed as the new head coach. Rep. Smith extended his congratulations to her: "Congratulations to Gage County native, Dani Busboom Kelly on being named the new head coach of Cornhusker volleyball. Husker Nation is excited to root for your success as our hometown hero."

The announcement marks a transition in leadership for Nebraska Volleyball as they welcome their new head coach.
