Rep. Adrian Smith, who represents Nebraska's 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared his thoughts through a series of tweets addressing issues ranging from national observance to consumer choice and international relations.

On May 1, 2025, Smith reflected on the spiritual significance of the National Day of Prayer, stating, "Today the #NationalDayofPrayer reminds us of our dependence on God’s help and blessings as we to strive to uphold a just, unified, and prosperous nation."

Later the same day, Smith turned to the topic of consumer choice in the energy sector, specifically regarding electric vehicle mandates. He commented that restrictions on Americans' options are concerning, especially in places like rural Nebraska where "weather, driving distances, and existing infrastructure" make such mandates challenging. He advocated for empowering consumer choice and fostering innovation.

On May 2, 2025, Smith expressed his appreciation for international collaboration after meeting several members of the Japanese Diet. He highlighted the value of these exchanges, emphasizing Japan's role as a key ally and the importance of bilateral relations. He communicated his perspective via a tweet, noting, “I appreciated meeting with several Members of the Japanese Diet this week. Because Japan is a key ally, exchanging views and experiences with fellow legislators is crucial to strengthening one of the most important bilateral relationships in the world."

Adrian Smith has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2007, following in the footsteps of Tom Osborne. He attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he earned his degree in 1993, and currently resides in Gering, Nebraska, his birth state.
