In Washington, D.C., the Congressional Biofuels Caucus has relaunched for the 119th Congress with new co-chairs Ashley Hinson (R-IA), Julie Fedorchak (R-ND), and Nikki Budzinski (D-IL) joining existing co-chairs Adrian Smith (R-NE), Angie Craig (D-MN), and Mark Pocan (D-WI). The caucus aims to promote policies that support American biofuel producers.

Co-chair Smith emphasized the potential of biofuels in shaping the future of liquid fuels. “American biofuel producers have an untapped ability to power the future of liquid fuels, whether ethanol blends, biodiesel, or sustainable aviation fuel,” he stated. He expressed gratitude to his colleagues and welcomed the new co-chairs, highlighting the economic benefits of advancing biofuel policies.

Craig highlighted the importance of increasing biofuel production for energy policy. “Increasing the production and availability of homegrown biofuels is a critical piece of the puzzle when it comes to the all-of-the-above energy policy we need to stay ahead,” she said. She expressed pride in relaunching the caucus alongside her bipartisan colleagues.

Hinson discussed Iowa's role in biofuels and her efforts in Congress. “Biofuels are key to Iowa’s economy and key to American energy dominance,” she remarked. She outlined her work on expanding access to Iowa biofuels and supporting local producers.

Pocan stressed fair market conditions for corn growers in Wisconsin. “Corn growers in Wisconsin deserve to have an even playing field in the market dominated by the oil and gas industry," he noted, emphasizing emissions reduction goals and rural job investments.

Fedorchak highlighted North Dakota's contribution to America's energy strategy through biofuels. "Biofuels are a growing part of America’s energy strategy," she commented, expressing honor at serving as a co-chair.

Budzinski focused on representing Central and Southern Illinois farmers' interests in Congress. "I came to Congress to be a strong voice for the people of Central and Southern Illinois—especially our hardworking farmers," she said, reaffirming her commitment to promoting sustainable biofuels.

The caucus advocates for policies that reflect American biofuel producers' capacity to meet demands for reliable fuels while fostering rural economies and job growth. It includes several additional members from both parties across various states.
