Rep. Adrian Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 3rd district, has shared a series of tweets highlighting historical events and legislative developments. Born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Smith has been a congressional representative since 2007 after succeeding Tom Osborne. He holds a BA from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and resides in Gering.

On June 4, 2025, Rep. Smith commemorated an event from Nebraska's history by noting that "OTD in NE History: In 1943, the Syracuse Journal-Democrat recorded a late spring heat wave and storms combined to result in stifling humidity." He included a quote from a local resident during wartime that reflected the patriotic spirit of Nebraskans at the time.

Later on June 4, Smith announced that "The SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Reauthorization Act passed the House 366-57." He emphasized that the House GOP is focusing on promoting evidence-based addiction prevention and facilitating workforce reentry for those recovering from addiction to curb drug-related deaths.

On June 5, he referred to an analysis by Farm Bureau regarding potential tax hikes facing family farms. Smith stated that "the average family farm faces a $5,125 tax hike if Congress does not address expiring tax provisions." He mentioned that the House GOP's #OBBBA aims to extend and improve critical TCJA and Farm Bill provisions.

Additional context reveals that Adrian Smith has served as a U.S. Congressman since 2007 after his tenure in the Nebraska Legislature from 1999 to 2007.
