The median income of Hayes Center residents was $30,179 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 137 households with a population of 323.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Woodland Hills with $73,056 per year after adjusting for inflation – $42,877 more than Hayes Center. It had 69 households with a population of 170.
