The Hastings Police Department celebrated the promotion of Jason Haase to Captain and Nathan Hanson to Sergeant Thursday afternoon, June 1.

Friends, family and co-workers, and City of Hastings Administration members shared this joint celebration.

Captain Haase has provided 14 years of service to the Hastings Police Department and the Hastings community. Captain Haase has been a Sergeant for the Hastings Police Department since 2017. He is an instructor for the Hastings Police Department, participates in committees and oversees various projects.

Sergeant Hanson provided seven years of service to the Hastings Police Department and the Hastings community. He has been a Corporal for the department since 2019. Sergeant Hanson is an instructor and Tactical Response Team member for Hastings Police Department.

Although their promotion ceremonies were June 1, the promotions for Captain Haase and Sergeant Hanson took effect on May 21.

Also on May 21, HPD officers Tony Burnett and Ethan Sharman were promoted to corporal.

A promotional ceremony for Corporals Burnett and Sharman will occur on June 6. Like the promotional ceremony for Captain Haase and Sergeant Hanson, the promotional ceremony for Corporals Burnett and Sharman will be open just to friends, family, co-workers and City of Hastings Administration members.
